Saskatchewan’s Registered Nursing Regulator Rebrands as the “College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)” Following the Move to a Single Mandate
For more than 100 years, the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) has served as the regulator and the association for Registered Nurses (RN) in the province. In 2019, the CRNS Council, after much research and deliberation, made the important decision to move to a single mandate in the spirit of refining regulatory excellence and protecting the public.
Professional Standards Authority Review
In 2018, the CRNS set out to improve its complaints, investigations and discipline functions and increase transparency with the membership and the public. The CRNS wished to assess its performance against the Professional Standards Authority’s (PSA) Standards of Good Regulation and against other regulators to identify where it was performing well and to highlight any areas for improvement.
