Nursing Students and Graduates Within Canada
This section is for you if you intend to write the NCLEX-RN exam and practice nursing in Saskatchewan and are currently enrolled in a Saskatchewan nursing program or have graduated in the last three years from a Canadian nursing program.
We are experiencing a high volume of requests due to our yearly renewal, as a result you may experience a delayed response.
Before starting your application, please have the following pieces of identification ready:
- Government issued ID-example passport/driver’s license
- Birth Certificate
There are 2 application routes, one for those who graduated in Saskatchewan and one for graduates in other Canadian provinces.
Steps for Saskatchewan Graduate
- Please do not apply with the CRNS until you have received an email from your University that the Program Completion document has been sent to the CRNS on your behalf.
- Register for the NCLEX-RN examination with Pearson VUE and pay the required fees of $378.00.
- Create an account with the CRNS, complete your initial application and pay the required fees of $294.00. This application will require your NCSBN ID number which begins with a 2.
Once all requirements have been received and verified the CRNS will:
- make you eligible for the exam with Pearson VUE,
- within 3 business days Pearson VUE will email the Authorization to Test (ATT) to you, if you do not receive your ATT email after 3 business days, please send an email to exams@crns.ca. You must book your exam appointment within the dates stated on the ATT.

Testing Accommodations
If you have a professionally recognized diagnosis of a disability, impairment, condition, or disorder which could affect your exam performance, you can request a testing accommodation.
You can only write at a permanent Pearson VUE testing centre when you have testing accommodations.

NCLEX-RN Exam Results
The exam results will be emailed to you within 5 business days.
Two Options Available:
Apply to write the NCLEX-RN examination with the CRNS
- Register for the NCLEX-RN examination with Pearson VUE and pay the required fee of $378.00.
- Create an account with the CRNS, submit your initial application and required fees of $294.00. This application will require your NCSBN ID number which begins with a 2.
- As part of your application, you will need to provide Verification of Program Completion, This form must come directly from the University that issues the degree to the CRNS once you have completed your program. The University may email this form to exams@crns.ca.

OR
Apply for a Saskatchewan Graduate Nurse License while registered to write the NCLEX-RN examination in another Canadian province.
If you have been unsuccessful with the NCLEX-RN examination twice you are no longer eligible to apply for an initial Graduate Nurse License in Saskatchewan.
- Create an account with the CRNS, submit your initial application and required fee of $157.50
- As part of your application, you will need to provide:
- Verification of Program Completion, This form must come directly from the University that issues the degree to the CRNS once you have completed your program. The University may email this form to exams@crns.ca.
- Verification of Scheduled RN Examination Writing
- If you have worked as a Graduate Nurse in another Canadian Province, you will need to complete and attached a GN Consent for Statement from Employer form.
Optional Graduate Nurse license
This allows you to practice as a Graduate Nurse while you prepare for the NCLEX-RN exam. This license spans 4 months and can be renewed twice.
