Registered Nurse License Renewal

This section is for you if you intend to renew your RN license to practice in Saskatchewan.

We are experiencing a high volume of requests due to our yearly renewal, as a result you may experience a delayed response.

CRNS Application Requirements

To renew a practicing RN license, you must have completed one of the following options:

Option 1: Graduated from an approved RN nursing education program.

Option 2: Worked a minimum of 1125 hours of RN nursing practice in a five-year period.

Option 3: Worked a minimum of 450 hours of RN nursing practice in a two-year period.

Option 4: Completed an approved RN nursing re-entry program. If you have completed a nursing re-entry program within the last five years and have not practiced 1125 hours as an RN since that date, contact the CRNS at renew@crns.ca.

Option 5:  completed an approved competence assessment and any required course work in the preceding five year period

Option 6:  completed an approved supervised practice experience in the preceding five year period

Returning to Practice After Your License has Expired

If your practising license has expired and you would like to renew there are a few documents you will need to provide.
