Frequently Asked Questions
The CRNS has transitioned to a new registrant database called Alinity, a system currently being used by a variety of health care and professional regulators across the country.
The new system will provide registrants with access to their CRNS online profile to complete applications for licensure and renewal, apply for exams, upload documents, and engage in the Continuing Competence Program. A strategic priority for the CRNS, the Alinity database will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our day-to-day operations to better serve the public and our registrants.
To download your license card:
- Log in to your Alinity portal profile.
- Click “Download Registration” on the left side.
- Select the “Download” button for the current licensure year.

Submit a support ticket to assist with gaining access to your existing Alinity profile. A CRNS staff member will contact you to verify your identity prior to making changes to your account. Once the email has been updated you will be instructed to log in using your new email address. Your old password will continue to work, but you can also do a password reset if needed.
As we continue the transition to the new registrant database, we are aware of some information and/or documents not appearing for registrants when they log in. We are working to fix this issue and thank you for your patience as the information from our previous database transfers over to Alinity. Open a support ticket if you need further assistance.
No
Due to security reasons, each registrant is required to have their own email address to have a profile in the Alinity portal.
Although your Continue Competence Program completion is required at the time of renewal, we advise starting your CCP right after you have fully renewed for the next licensure year and continue to work on it throughout the year.
Click here for more support updating and completing your CCP.
Your CCP for the next licensure year will not be available, to you, until you have fully renewed for the next licensure year.
This means you have:
- completed your renewal
- is not under review
- your license has been paid
- and your status has been updated on the Alinity portal
You can confirm your license status by referencing the Nurse License Check or confirm on your Alinity portal profile.

How-to Guides
All current applicants/registrants received a ‘Welcome to Alinity’ email with links and instructions on how to access the online portal. The first time you log in, you will be prompted to create a new password. Once complete, all applicants/registrants can access the portal with their email address and password.
You may be requested to authorize yourself as the owner of this account. As part of this process, you may be prompted to submit a verification code. The temporary code will be sent to your email address. Copy the verification code and then input this code exactly as shown into the web browser. If you are unable to find the email, check your junk mail. Once you have input the code, click Validate to proceed.
If you do not receive the verification code, please check your spam/junk folder. You may have to disable your anti-virus software or add the portal to the allowed list so emails from the database come through to your inbox.
If you have any questions, please contact the CRNS
If you have forgotten your password, the link to reset is located on the Alinity portal page. Request a password reset by clicking Forgot your password.
On this screen you will be directed to:
- Input the email address attached to your profile
